Welcome and tips for Leeuwarden

After the Cultural capital of Europe-year in 2018 is Friesland again the decor of a large-scale (inter)national cultural event. Arcadia has started! During Arcadia are for 100 days, till 14th of August, hopeful perspectives provided by renowned (inter)national and local artists, culture makers and the community Frisian Mienskip. ‘How do we let our planet and society behind for the generations to come?’ is the question which is not only central to Arcadia.

The walking forest of art manifestation Arcadia can be seen in Leeuwarden. The walking forest does not move without manpower. Bosk participants contribute to the ‘walking’ of the trees. The trees are moved, cared for and fed manually, and that takes many hands. You as a camper can also help and a route has been set out. For more information, route and programme; Bosk.

Popular Miniature People

A miniature route has been extended especially for Bosk. The smallest inhabitants of Leeuwarden follow the same route as the thousand walking trees that are taking over the city this summer. Along the way, you will bump into tree planters and gardeners, but also into cyclists and a water carrier. Can you find them all? The route is ready for you in the Trust box at Camperplaats Leeuwarden.

Would you like to discover Leeuwarden in a special way? Then the Venetian Gondola Tours is a fun way! Our guests receive a special discount on presentation of the unique discount key.
